Ralf Homann, von 1999 bis 2007 Professor an der Bauhaus Universität Weimar und unter anderem Teilnehmer
der Manifesta 8 (2010), veranstaltet am 30. August in der Kai Middendorff Galerie eine Lecture-Performance.
In dieser “Picknick-Radio-Performance“ greift er den historischen, revolutionären Akt der Aneignung des
öffentlichen Raumes beim Picknicken auf und sendet via Piratensender live in die Nachbarschaft der Galerie.
Dabei entwickelt er eine bildhauerische Theorie des Raumes, die vom RADIO ausgeht und befragt das
elektronische wie das haptisch-visuelle Medium unter dem Aspekt der Aktivierung von Raum.
In der Ausstellung sind zehn autonome Arbeiten zu sehen, darunter die raumgreifende Arbeit Radio-Picknick.

Ralf Homann, Professor at Bauhaus University Weimar until 2007 and participant at Manifesta 8 (2010), will be
developing a sculptural notion of space whilst utilising radio as a point of departure. Employing previous and
current works as models, he seeks to investigate the electronic as well as the haptic-visual medium, in the light of
a means towards the activation of space in the performative framework of a Radio-Picknick over the course of the
opening. As an accompaniment, finger food will be on offer.
